Human resource management is concerned with the "people" dimension in the management. Human resource management means the management of people within an organization . Since,every organization is made up of people, acquiring their services, developing their skills, motivating them to higher level of performance and ensuring that they continue to maintain their commitment to the organization are essential to achieve organizational objectives. Those organization that are able to acquire ,develop ,stimulate and keep outstanding workers will be both effective and efficient. Those organizations that are ineffective or inefficient risk the hazards of stagnating or going out of business. Human resource does creates organization and makes them survive and prosper. If human resources are neglected or mismanaged, the organization is unlikely to do well.

OBJECTIVE OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Objectives are pre-determined goals to which individual or group activity in an organization is directed. Objectives of HRM are influenced by organisational objectives and individual and social goals. Every organization has some objectives and every part of it should contribute directly or indirectly to the attainment of desired objectives. Objectives determine the character of an organization and serve as the basis for voluntary cooperation and coordination among employees .Objective also provide benchmarks for standard of evaluating performance. The objectives of HRM may be summarized as follows:-
1. To create and use an able and motivated workforce to accomplish the basic organization goal.
2. To recognize and satisfy individual and group needs by providing adequate and equitable wages ,incentives, employee benefits ,social security ,challenging work, prestige recognition, security status ,etc. Thus an organization can identify and satisfy individual and group goals by offering appropriate monetary and non monetary incentives.
3. To employ the skills and knowledge of employees effectively and efficiently i.e., to use human resources effectively in the achievement of organization.
4. To strengthen and appreciate the human Assets continuously by providing training and development program. Training and development program helps the organization to attain its goal by providing well-trained and well motivated employees
5. To maintain high employee moral and sound human relations by sustaining and improving the various conditions and facilities.
6. To enhance job satisfaction and self actualization of employees by encouraging and assisting every employee to realize his full potential.
7. To provide facility and condition of work and creation of favourable atmosphere for providing stability of employment.
8. To develop and maintain a quality of work life which makes employment in organization a desirable personal and social situation.
Maximum individual development ,desirable working relationship and effective utilization of human resources are the primary goal of HRM. Management has to create a conducive environment and provide necessary prerequisite for the attainment of objective of HRM.
SCOPE OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
human resource management embraces a very wide field of activities .The scope of HRM is so wide and varied that the HR department and the personal executive typically perform a variety of roles in accordance with the need of a solution. The HR manager, plays multiple roles like the role of a researcher ,role of counsellor ,role of a bargainers, role of a mediator,role of a pacemaker, role of a problem solver etc.
